Councilor Nadeem Mazen said he has been an Airbnb host in the city, as well as a guest all over the world. The range of quality of Airbnb rentals vary significantly, Mazen said, depending on location and the residence itself.
“While some people may be holding Airbnb’s to pay off loans on their condo conversions, it’s probably unlikely people are condo converting in order to do exclusive Airbnb,” Mazen said.
